BLOG POST

There comes a point in a business when things start to change.

You've gained experience. You've worked with better clients. Your confidence has grown. Your ambitions have probably changed too. You might be looking at the next level of your business and thinking about bigger opportunities, stronger positioning and being known for something that feels much more aligned with where you are now.

But sometimes your brand hasn't quite caught up.

And that can be difficult to see when everything looks perfectly fine on the surface.

Your website works. Your social media looks professional. You've had the photoshoot. You've got the branding. You're creating content and doing all the things you're told you should be doing.

But does it actually reflect the woman and the business you've become? That's one of the questions behind The Brand Room.

We wanted to create a day for women who are already established in what they do, but know there is another level available to them. Not because they need fixing, but because growth changes things for us all. The business that got you here isn't necessarily the business that's going to take you where you want to go next.

And your brand needs to be able to evolve with it.

Branding is about more than what people see

I've spent more than 25 years working across brand, marketing, communications, events and creative, and one thing I've learned is that the strongest brands aren't built by looking at one element in isolation.

Your visual identity matters, but so does the way you communicate.

Your positioning matters, but so does the experience people have when they meet you.

Your story matters, but so does the way that story comes to life across your business.

Your content matters, but so does what people actually take away from it.

And sales, PR, photography, client experience, speaking and all the other ways people encounter your business don't sit in separate little boxes. They all contribute to the impression you create.

That's why The Brand Room brings together people with expertise across different parts of the brand and business experience.

Because sometimes the most useful thing you can do is step back from the individual pieces and look at what they're creating together.

What does someone experience when they enter your world?

What do they understand about you?

What do they remember?

And does that match the level you're trying to reach?

Those are much more interesting questions to me than simply asking whether your Instagram looks good.

I don't think you need more noise

There is no shortage of advice and information right now about how to build a brand.

Every week there seems to be a new trend, a new formula, a new content strategy or a new version of what we're all apparently supposed to be doing.

Some of it is useful.

Some of it isn't.

And the challenge, particularly when you're already successful, is knowing what to take on board and what to leave behind.

Because the answer isn't always to do more.

Sometimes it's about making better decisions.

Decisions that are right for your business, your personality, your ambitions and the experience you want to create.

That's why The Brand Room isn't designed as a day where you sit quietly, take notes and go home with another enormous to-do list (that never gets touched).

It's designed to get you thinking.

To expose you to different perspectives.

To give you space to look at your business differently.

And, hopefully, to spark some ideas that you wouldn't have had sitting at your desk trying to work it all out yourself.

And yes, I want it to be enjoyable

This matters to me.

Business can be serious. There are numbers to hit, decisions to make and responsibilities that come with building something of your own.

But I don't believe that means the process has to be dull.

There is so much creativity involved in building a brand and a business, and we want that to be part of the experience at The Brand Room.

We want you to enjoy being there.

We want you to meet interesting people, have conversations you wouldn't normally have, see things from a different perspective and leave with that feeling of something has shifted.

Not because someone gave you another formula to follow.

Because you've started seeing your own business differently.

This is the thinking behind The Brand Room

We've brought together experts across mindset, brand strategy, visual identity, photography, storytelling, sales, PR, content, speaking and mindset... with the day deliberately designed to move between different perspectives and experiences.

You'll hear from experts who approach business from very different angles, but the common thread is the same: how do all these different parts come together to create a business and brand that people want to experience?

That's the conversation I want us to have.

And I don't expect you to agree with everything you hear.
In fact, I hope you don't

.Take the ideas that make you think. Challenge the ones that don't. Ask better questions. Look at your business with fresh eyes.

Because the next version of your business might not need you to become more like somebody else. It might need you to become more intentional about what is already yours.

That's what The Brand Room is about.

Meet the experts in the room

The Brand Room isn't one voice telling you what to do. It's a group of experts who each look at your business from a different angle, and the day is built around what happens when those angles come together.

Janine Coney I'm a brand strategist and creative director, my focus is strategy and positioning, looking at your business and you as a whole experience , not just the visuals or the messaging in isolation. I've spent more than 25 years working across brand, marketing, communications, events and creative and I cannot wait to host the day alongside my co-founders Trudie and Joanna. My session is about helping you build the certainty that makes you the obvious choice in your space, the category leader everyones talking about, not just another option. Get ready for something different!

Trudie Avery covers brand identity and visual design. She's one of the founders and co-hosts of the Brand Room, and her focus is on how your brand looks and feels the moment someone encounters it, before they've read a word of your copy or heard you speak.

Joanna Wood covers brand photography. Also a founder and co-host, she looks at whether the images you're using actually support the story you're telling and the level you're operating at now, or whether they're still doing the job an earlier version of your business needed them to do.

Headline Sponsor and Keynote Speaker - Enfys Maloney is our headline speaker. She's a multi award winning sales expert, and she'll be taking the stage to talk about what it actually takes to sell with confidence and consistency, not just tactics that work for a season - you will be taking action in the room . She's also been a guest on my podcast, The Undeniable Show, so if you want a preview of how she thinks, that's a good place to start.

Guest Speaker Casey Paul - opens the day with a keynote on positive psychology and human performance. This sets the tone before anyone talks strategy. Your brand is built on decisions you make under pressure, in rooms most people never see, and Casey's session is about the thinking behind those decisions.

Media Partner - Olivia Marocco, Editor in Chief of Brand You Magazine, joins us for a fireside chat and will also be at the carousel tables. As a media partner, she brings a perspective most founders don't get access to, what actually makes a brand story worth covering.

In our expert Hub and at the carousel tables, in smaller groups across the afternoon, you'll also meet our experts:

  • Emma Gaskin, award winning global speaking coach, on how to use your voice and your stage presence to build authority

  • Samantha Kidd, funnel and conversion strategist, on what actually turns interest into paying clients

  • Natalie Schofield, social media strategist, on building a presence that reflects where your business is going, not where it's been

  • Amanda FitzGerald, PR and visibility strategist, on getting seen by the right people, not just more people

And I'll be in the room throughout the day, speaking, hosting and looking at your business and your positioning as a whole. My job is to help you leave with real clarity on what makes you the obvious choice in your space, not another list of things to add to your to-do list.
