Yes, If I were starting from scratch, this is exactly how I’d build a Personal Brand to support my business in 2024 ..,.


I’d work on a healthy mind and body routine...How you feel and show up is a major part of your road to success, so working on your mind and body should be a priority. If I were starting again now, I’d make it a non-negotiable and build exercise into my day of any kind, as well as work on my mindset through self-care. It’s not woo-woo; it’s essential in building resilience in a personal brand and business! I definitely show up with 100% more energy and confidence when I do this.


I’d do the key foundational work that I probably thought I already knew...Yes, I would go back and get super clear on my values, skills, strengths, and experiences—not in a basic way, but in a meaningful process that really challenged my way of thinking. You do this so you know with clarity and confidence what makes you unique, what makes you stand out. 99% of the women, even the well-established in business who I work with, think they’ve done it... but they haven’t done it my way!


I’d understand my story and why it matters...Your story is unique to you, but don’t get lost in the epic version. It isn’t about sharing every tiny detail from birth until now—it’s about connecting with the key moments in your life and experiences that have led and shaped you into who you are and what you do today. These are the parts your audience can relate to and connect with. So, I would recommend you concentrate on this from scratch for sure. It’s a game changer.


I’d go deep on really understanding my WHY...This one stops so many people in their tracks! Yep. Why are you really doing what you do? What’s your purpose? And it’s rarely all about the money (although I know that’s important). By delving deep into the reasons behind your actions, understanding the impact you wish to have, and what truly holds value for you, you can concentrate on how you deliver this and connect with your audience. This is the anchor you return to whenever you doubt yourself or face tough decisions.


What am I offering...I love this one, as when I started building my brand and business, I looked around at everyone else and thought I needed to be like them and do what they do. When you REALLY know who you are, what you stand for, who you do it for, what makes you different, and why you love to do what you do, you can start creating services and offers that you love and feel in your heart—and that’s when they sell so easily because your energy in them is so connected it’s infectious. So get super clear and excited on all of the above, and then your offering will be so easy to connect with, feel, and promote.


I’d have ongoing goals and a strategy to support it...OK, so this is the point you’ll go 🥱, heard it all before, yeah, yeah, yeah, Janine—but I promise that this is the one thing I come up against the most when working with women building their brand and business—a lot of dreams Yes ✅, but no defined goals, and no clear strategy to get there. This is a game changer. Yes, it might seem like the dull part of getting it all sorted, but without a clear route, how will you reach your destination? So, I’d take time out and work on this with a Coach who has been there and done it and can support me.


I’d get so visible without apology...Oh my word, this is one I’d do so differently. I wouldn’t care what people think, I’d stop creating content worrying others were judging me. In fact, I’d create content so that it stood out and shared my own ideas and opinions rather than blending in. I’d remember that there is space for everyone, and I’d find the right places to network with the right people in a way that felt right for me. And I would meet as many people and make as many real aligned connections as possible. That is what I would do!


I’d invest in my next level and high-level self from the outset...Too many times I held myself back through investments I was scared to make or by thinking I knew it already and didn’t need help. But if I were starting from scratch now, I would invest in the highest level coach I could trust, someone who’s walked the walk, and who could help me get where I want to go without question. I would not be investing in cookie-cutter approaches or mass group online coaching promising pie-in-the-sky results that just aren’t realistic with no personal interaction or feedback. I’d want support and eyes on my business from someone who is experienced and truly cares.
